16 teams to participate
The Guyana Softball League, in association with Sheik Promotions will host a Floodlight Softball competition this Saturday at the Ogle community Centre ground, that will see some 16 top teams from around the Demerara area competing.
In addition to the competition there are two exhibition matches with the females battling it out – Coomacka Queens take on the Uitvlugt Queens. The other match sees the over 40s’ on show with Industry Super Kings taking on Rangers Masters XI. Teams wishing to participate are required to pay an entrance fee of $15,000. The winners will receive $100,000 and a trophy; runners-up pocket $40,000 and trophy; man-of-the-match in the final will receive a trophy plus dinner for two; best bowler and batsman of the tournament will each win a trophy along with a trip for two.
Today is the closing date for entry, and the draw for the competition takes place at the Ogle ground.
