The Berbice Football Association (BFA) has attracted sponsorship from the Managing Director of The Business School, James Bovell, and will be running off a junior tournament for schools and clubs to be played within the New Amsterdam area.
The tournament is in keeping with the Youth Development Week Programme, for players in the Ancient County, and will be contested by eight teams. The BFA has disclosed that the tentative date for kick-off is Saturday.
Full details of fixtures, trophies and other prizes will be known later this week.
Meanwhile, the Youth and Female tournaments are scheduled to start tomorrow with the Under 13 boys round-robin 7-a-side competition.
On Friday, an 11-a-side Under-15 competition will be played using the knockout format, while the female 7-a-side round-robin tournament is set for Sunday.
Trophies and prizes will be presented to the respective winners along with outstanding individual players.
Clubs that have not registered their teams are reminded to contact the BFA office in New Amsterdam to complete this process.
For further information, contact can be made with the BFA Secretary or President at telephone numbers 682-8797 or 617-8496.
