Softball Cricket International (SCI) which is based in the United States will honor a number of past and present outstanding players during the Guyana Softball Cup 3 which is scheduled to be played in Guyana from November 8 -10.
New York All Stars are the defending champions in the Open category having defeated Trophy Stall of Guyana in last year’s final while Guyana’s Savage XI overcame New York’s Legend in the over 45 division at Everest Cricket Club.
A release from the SCI stated that the New York Softball League (NYSL) will once again be represented by All Stars and Legend and expressed many thanks to the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCL) for affording their teams the opportunity to play cricket in Guyana once again.
“As defending champions of the premiere competition we wish to signal our intention to successfully defend the Cup as well as to add the Over-45 trophy to our collection. However, while it is our expressed desire to win both categories our principal mission is to entertain the cricket loving fans of Guyana, “New York Style”.
Parallel to that we anxiously look forward to bonding with our “brothers and sisters “in the Land of Many Waters”, the release stated.
The SCL wishes to congratulate the GFSCL for organising this wonderful competition and indicated that this tournament is top priority on their cricket agenda.
