Guyanese International Cricket commentator Joseph ‘Reds’ Pereira will today present 5 copies of his book ‘Living my dream’ to the Chief Librarian of the National Library, Gillian Thompson at 10:00hrs.
The 71-year-old Reds, who had already presented a copy of his book to the Library, said the others were for the Libraries in the rural areas since he wanted as much people as possible to have the opportunity of reading the book which is not a cricket book but a chronicle of his life’s struggles and tells of how he overcame a serious stuttering problem and much later a life-threatening stroke in Australia to continue his active involvement in Sports broadcasting.
Reds, a former Sports Advisor in the previous Government and Sport Director of the Organisation of Easter Caribbean States (OECS) hopes that his book will motivate and inspire people, especially those with disabilities to never give up on their dreams.
The Pomeroon born West Indian who now resides in St Lucia has already launched his book in Guyana, St Lucia, Antigua, Barbados and Trinidad and he will be available to autograph his books for customers on Saturday from 09:00hrs to11:00hrs at Oasis Café and from 11:00hrs to 14:00hrs at the Austin Book Store in Georgetown.
