Over 45 horses have been entered for the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club Emancipation Horserace Meet set for today at the Club’s race track, Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne Berbice.
The feature event will be for horses classified C and lower over one-mile and will see the winner receiving a top prize of $700,000 and trophy. Among those entered to compete are Settling Star, Golden Blue Echo, Lucky Star, Chamalee, Golden Dancer and Star.
The H and lower 7 furlongs event for WI bred non-winners & Guyana bred Open over 7 furlongs has a winning prize of $240,000 and trophy.
In the In the 2 years old Guyana bred 5 Furlongs event the winner will receive $200,000 and trophy.
There is an event for animals classified J and K and lower over 7 furlongs for a first prize of $180,000 and trophy.
The L class Open event over 5 miles the winner is set to receive $160,000 and trophy.
In winner of the L-non winners event for 2018 and 2019 will get a top prize of $140,000 and trophy.
The final event will be for L-non-earners and will see the winner taking home $120,000 and trophy.
Among other horses set to compete are Desert Storm, Stolen Diamond, Grey Boy, Kentucky Woman, Golden Dancer, Silence and Things, Campador and Miss Olympic among others. Over $3.5M in cash trophies and other incentives are up for grabs.
Race time is 13:00 hrs.
