Dominoes teams will be in action today in Wakenaam when the Trophy Stall competition commences at 09:30hrs at Carlosh Sports bar in Good Success.
The competition is expected to attract some of the top teams on the island; Good Success, Seawall Boys, Melville, V Net, Underdog, All Stars, Big 6, East Wakenaam and Belle Plaine.
Kaieteur News’ Zaheer Mohamed, who hails from the village of Good Success in Wakenaam, was on hand to receive the prizes from Trophy Stall at their Bourda Market location. Mohamed expressed gratitude to proprietor Ramesh Sunich for his contribution towards the sport in the island.
In an invited comment Sunich said he is happy to sponsor the tournament and wished the teams well. Captain of the All Stars team, Mohamed Kalam said an exciting tournament is anticipated and lauded Sunich for his contribution towards the development of sport in Guyana.
The top two teams and MVP will receive trophies.
Trophy Stall, which is Guyana’s leading trophy and engraving entity, also does plaques, stamps and awards of distinction, among other services, has set sights at Port Mourant. According to Sunich, the new branch at Port Mourant will be opened during the second week in January so as to facilitate its Berbice customers. Trophy Stall head office is situated at Bourda Market and has branches at City Mall and South Road. Sunich said that all the services that are available in Georgetown will also be provided in Berbice and will be second to none.
Apart from the aforementioned services, Trophy Stall is also one of the leading sports stores in the country and a leading light in sponsorship of sporting activities locally. Through the dynamic leadership of Mr. Sunich the business has become a household name in the country through its fantastic bargains and generosity.
Sunich said that due to the overwhelming support that he has been receiving from the Berbice community he saw it fit to expand his services to the Ancient County. According to Sunich, this is not only to serve but to give back to Berbice and he looks forward to working closely with the Berbice Community.
Though not yet open, the entity is already sponsoring a U19 cricket tournament for teams in the Upper Corentyne area.
