The $18,200 Old Age Pension, promised in the 2016 National Budget is now payable.
The Government Information Agency spoke with some pensioners about how the new amount would benefit them. Nearly 50,000 pensioners will benefit.
They were all smiles.
GINA also asked their views on the 20 percent reduction in electricity rates. Finance Minister, Winston Jordan, during the presentation of his 2016 Budget speech to the National Assembly on January 29, 2016 noted that within the eight months the APNU+AFC had been in government, Old Age Pension had increased by 38.7 percent, representing the largest increase in recent memory.
With the 20 percent reduction in electricity the consumers are set to benefit from the second decrease in electricity rates.
