Dear Editor,
Our opportunity to eject the current regime is just a few weeks away and they know it. They are using every dirty trick they can to buy our votes. They are offering us favours that are supposed to be our rights.
If every family is now entitled to a laptop then it is our right to have one. Suddenly fixing the pot holes in our street is a civic amenity that we are entitled to. It’s not a gift. Our tax dollars have bought that service, so don’t be fooled.
We have to stay focused, too. We cannot sell our votes if we want a better life for ourselves and our descendants. Let us refuse the thousands of dollars offered to vote for any party.
We have to remember votes are valuable to us. They are all we have to stake a real claim in government and its workings. Our votes give us a say in electing a government that works for all of the people.
They give us a government that understands that we need potable water, efficient electricity, available healthcare, and an education system that prepares us to compete on the world stage. They will elect a government that will eradicate the drug trafficking our country is now known for.
Additionally, our votes will give us a government that will use our military and our police forces to protect citizens.
They will also give us a government that will not allow our borders to be compromised by an influx of immigrants that are not accounted for; but who still get a better opportunity, than we do, to develop lands that have much of our country’s mineral wealth.
These issues form the foundation needed to rebuild what has been destroyed by nineteen years of rule by a government that is self-serving, corrupt and divisive.
They have worked very hard at pitting races against each other. They have worked very hard at exacting political revenge. They have worked very hard at denying citizens basic human rights and amenities.
Lately, they have taken to sending toxic mail to our employers both at home and overseas if they learn that we are speaking out against them.
We cannot forget this. We have to eject them from office. We have to look at any money being offered to us to vote for any specific party as we look at the thirty pieces of silver that was given to Judas to sell his brother out.
The difference here is that you would not only be selling your brother out. You would be selling out your entire family and your descendants to come.
Stay focused, voters. Any day past November 28th 2011 with the PPP/C still in power is a day too many.
We have to go to the polls on Election Day and when we do we have to VOTE FOR ANY PARTY BUT THE PPP/C.
Let’s do this.
