A popular drug addict is now the guest of the police, after choosing the Brickdam Police Station mess hall, of all places, to have an unwelcomed dinner on Saturday night.
The man who is named as ‘Vegas’, is now in a place that is far removed from the popular American gambling capital, after filling himself with food from the Police Mess Hall.
Vegas, who cleans cars for a living, including those of the police, abused his welcome after he was invited to clean vehicles in the Brickdam compound.
He claimed that he was not paid for the task.
Apparently hungry after cleaning a number of vehicles, Vegas broke into the mess hall and ‘cleaned up’ the food that was left there for ranks. He even helped himself to the bread that was on display in the mess.
But he apparently ate too much and fell fast asleep where he had consumed the meal.
The next morning when the police opened the mess hall, they were surprised to see the man sleeping on the floor.
They became enraged when they learnt that he had consumed a significant amount of their food.
He was rudely awakened and hauled off to the lock-ups where he will be well fed by the state for a few days.
