A fine half century by Jermain Trotman enabled United Brothers to qualify for the final of the South Essequibo twenty/20 cricket competition when they defeated Eldorado by 14 runs in their semi-final clash last Sunday at Suddie on the Essequibo Coast.
Trotman top scored with 50 and got support from Raymond Beaton 36 and Gavindra Shaw 27 as United Brothers scored 172 all out in 19.4 overs. Tameshwar Deonarine snared 4-26 and Raymond Ali 2-20.
Eldorado then responded with 158 all out in 18.3 overs. Indar Rampersaud was their leading run getter with 79 while Vishnu Harripersaud made 22 as Javed Azeez took 3-4 and Beaton 2-34 for the winners who are now awaiting the winner of the second semi-final between Rising Star and Golden Fleece.
