Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – Is there any God-fearing, conscientious, living person left in Guyana?
Every time I open the newspaper, it seems that everyone in Guyana is up to some kind of dishonesty.
Have we as a nation become so caught up in worldly goods that we have lost sight of the one who according to Matthew 6: 31-33 said to us: Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed? But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these shall be added to you.
One would expect our leaders, particularly those in governmental positions to be shining examples to the rest of us in the Guyana diaspora, but it appears they are the very ones committing these crimes. Make no mistake about it my fellow Guyanese; every time someone steals or sells some property belonging to the government of Guyana, they are actually stealing from us and our children who would have enjoyed the benefits that money could have been used to better our strife torn and under-developed country.
Now the PPP/C wants to be the sole arbiter of our oil money with no penalty or jail time for the abuse and misuse of our money. What is the PPP/C government thinking of? Something just doesn’t seem right. First, they are borrowing millions of US dollars from China, now they want full control of the oil money without any penalty or jail time for misuse of funds. When payback time to China comes, (and one day it will) will the PPP/C hierarchy abandon ship along with the oil money?
Just thinking…!
Whether you are Hindu, Muslim, or Christian…Have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
Regards,
Gloria Holder
