DEAR EDITOR,
I applaud Claudia Heywood for her courage to write the June 28th KN letter, “We must prepare to embrace truth no matter our race or personal preference”.
Ms. Heywood’s stated desire is to “embrace truth”, and implores Guyanese to be “prepared to applaud the true winner and encourage the loser while we all work together for the good of the Nation”, resulting in all of us being “winners.”
The letter writer warms of tribalism and encourages us to respect and listen to each other – and to uphold genuine righteousness.
This missive and letter-writer make a greater optimist out of me. I believe that the Guyanese people would eventually experience the power of truth over untruth. May we, like our sister Claudia Heywood, let our spiritual and moral convictions take precedence over personal predilections or predispositions.
Yours truly,
Dr. Devanand Bhagwan
