The Wakenaam Cricket Committee (WCC) Badri Prashad Memorial T20 competition will commence today at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground in Good Success.
In the opening fixture at 09:00hrs, Good Success will take in G Square Cavaliers of Belle Plaine while Sans Souci will play Maria’s Pleasure from 13:00hrs.
Secretary of the WCC Nazeer Mohamed said the teams are being divided into two zones with the top two teams from each zone going through to the semi finals. He added that the best batsman and best bowler in the competition as well as man of the match in the final will be rewarded along with the runner up and winning teams.
Zone A is comprised of Good Success, G Square Cavaliers and Sans Souci Jaguars while Zone B includes Zeelandia, Sans Souci, Maria’s Pleasure and Noitgedact SC.
Mohamed expressed gratitude to the sponsors. Keval Persaud, a representative of the sponsors, said they are happy to be onboard for this tournament once again and wished the teams well.
Teams; Good Success- Imran Khan, Wazir Khan, Nazeer Mohamed, Alex Hill, Mahase Ramnarine, Tushall Surujpaul, Devendra Hansraj, Vickram Ramnarine, Ejaz Mohamed, Shoaib Namaz, Tulsieram Ramadeen and Shorab Ali.
G Square Cavaliers; Satnarine Sahadeo, Mohan Ali, Sachin Chulai, Marlon Dindyal, Ajay Dindyal, Tekeshwar Nankoo, Beesham Bhagpattie, Devon Hansraj, Lokram Narine, Romario Stephen, Comesh Sudin, Andy Dindyal and Wayne Gookool.
Sans Souci- Oyono Sampson, Seon Venture, Cleon Venture, Devon Rambaran, Jaggernauth Manbodh, Heera Sukram, Kieran Kumar, Kamal Khan, Aarav Sukram, Jeetendra Persaud, Varounie Sasepaul and Omal Bacon.
Maria’s Pleasure; Kennard Lewis, Bernard Lewis, Marsh Singh, Leonard Lewis, Samuel Narine, Leorayan Ramlakhan, Mahadeo Ramdeo, Kevin Persaud, Emmanuel Lewis, Lionel Baker, Bhawanie Persaud and Kurt Headley.
