Dear Editor,
Most Guyanese believe that Anil Nandlall was unfit to be the Nation’s Attorney General. Once on a taped message, Nandlall, which up to this day has not denied he was the speaker, was enquiring about a certain female journalist for his uncle. He was also heard to be threatening the staff at Kaieteur News. Now this is the same person who is giving the impression that he cares so much, and has the country at heart and wants to rescue the Nation from the APNU/AFC coalition.
Both Jagdeo and Nandlall are telling their supporters that this Administration is for “One Term”. Well both of these men need to understand that although many might be disappointed with this Administration they are not going back to the PPP. Jagdeo must account for the 400 black lives taken by extra judicial killings. Nandlall must explain why there has been no investigation into those killings. He must tell us what the Ramotar Govt. knows about Courtney Crum-Ewing assassination. So when they are saying that this administration is a one term government, they should know that the PPP is not regaining power in 2020, even if we the people have to crawl to the polling station.
Jagdeo talks about wooing disaffected APNU/AFC supporters, however under the Jagdeo/Ramotar regime they could not find a single Afro-Guyanese to fill diplomatic positions. While Jagdeo was in government no one Guyanese of African descent could ever look forward to get beyond a certain level at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Does Jagdeo expect that the people are so silly as to compare the concerns they have with this present Administration as against the mountain of discriminations and the pain and suffering they had to endure under the last PPP administration, which was corrupt to the hilt.
Jagdeo and Nahdlall complain bitterly of discrimination now. During their regime, the PPP sterilized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the point that many people in the USA, UK and Canada never realized that this was a multi-ethnic society. This was because Jadgeo was callous and deliberate in his attempt to marginalize one section of this society to virtual exclusion. There is in my view no need to waste time to even listen to the empty talk by these two men of ill repute. We voted for change and we intend to push this administration to function. We are not going back to being second class citizen under PPP domination.
