Dear Editor,
Jagdeo and the PPP/C Government are evil for viewing entertainment as more important than easing the burden of the rising cost of living on the people of Guyana.
Yes, it will be an embarrassment for Jagdeo and this PPP/C Government if CARIFESTA X is boycotted. But this situation they have brought upon themselves.
Since 2003 Mr. Robert Corbin, Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) and Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition of Guyana, tried to dialogue and reason with Jagdeo and the PPP/C dictatorship but they just won’t listen.
It seems that Jagdeo and the PPP/C leaders’ minds are clouded with the whispers of a legion of demons that now lives in the office of the President and the PPP/C headquarters.
When we look at their performance since 1992, we would find that they are beyond incompetence; it is as if they are naturally incapable of doing what is right and in the best interest for the people of this country. All we have inherited from the PPP/C is crime, hardship and the torture and killing of innocent Guyanese people.
The Guyanese people are getting tired of Jagdeo and the PPP/C. So, it is only natural that they would exercise their fundamental democratic right to peacefully protest any government’s policies, laws, or actions that they might find disagreeable. And if they are denied permission to do so, the Guyanese people have legitimate reasons to engage in civil disobedience for their rights.
