DEAR EDITOR,
It is heartening to see the police are finally taking a stance against persons who utilise their private cars for hire purposes in blatant breach of the vehicle licence (“Cops cracking down on ‘private hire car’ drivers” KN Feb 17).
This illegal practice has been allowed to fester for much too long, and it is to be noted some private cars are attached to taxi services. The owners of taxi services engaged in this malpractice should also be called to account.
Finally, a positive move by the police.
