May 23, 2017 Letters
Dear Editor,
Please publish this complaint which is in reply to a letter published on the 11th May 2017 captioned ‘NIS responds to claim by pensioner’. This letter was written by the Public Relations Officer of NIS. Mr. Editor you and every Guyanese including government officials are aware of the contention between me (Cramer) and the administration of NIS. The PRO’s letter stated the following:
1. NIS has substantial evidence to support their claims that I worked with Willems Timbers Ltd.
2. No evidence to show that I worked with Toolsie Persaud Ltd as I (Cramer) claimed.
3. Investigation revealed that I am known by three names.
4. Management is of the opinion that there is an urgent need for dialogue with me and has written to me inviting me to visit their NIS head office.
NIS administration is being deceptive with the facts. I now reply to their letter as follows.
1. I never worked with Willems Timber Ltd, from 1969 onwards.
2. I submitted official correspondence to NIS from the human resources consultant, of a certain family owned timber company verifying I was employed with that company from 1969-1974, 1978-1990, and 2002-2004 (19 years/988 contributions). Along with pay slips for my latter years of employment showing NIS and PAYE deductions were made on behalf of the company.
3. I submitted a copy of an affidavit to NIS which stated that I am Hubert Joseph Montgomery Cramer known as Montgomery Seon same referred to my NIS card.
4. I specifically informed NIS that there is no postal or telephone service for Kaburi Village 72 Miles Potaro Road. I named a contact person with telephone number and email address as my representative.
NIS has evidence that I was employed by the timber company but unwisely is publishing “alternative facts,” perhaps for their own interest that involves conspiracy. Mr. Editor I will be visiting NIS shortly on their request hoping the letter is real and not fictitious like the one the PRO mentioned in her statement on March 22nd 2017. Also, I expect NIS to honour my travelling expenses, etc.
Hubert Cramer
