Local Government Ministry to rehabilitate roof of Stabroek Market

Kaieteur News – The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development is preparing to rehabilitate the roof of the Stabroek Market.

This is according to the recent reading bids at the tender board office. It was revealed that five contractors are vying for the contract, bidding between $107 million and $298 million.

The ministry went out to tender to seek bids also for the rehabilitation of the East La Penitence Municipal Market, for which seven firms have applied for the contract.

It was reported that this year, the Local Government Ministry was allocated $2.7 billion to upgrade several markets across the country.
