The APNU/AFC government is boastfully propagating the transformation of information and Communication Technology (ICT), through ICT hubs. Many of these ICT hubs are non functional, since the Ministry of Public Telecommunications is creating these hubs, in various communities that are unable to sustain the various expenses e.g. electricity etc., leading to the closure of many of these ICT hubs.
The perception that’s given by the APNU/AFC administration is far from the reality, especially Region Six presently, at Budhan Scheme, Caracas, West Canje, an ICT hub was commissioned in March 2018 and stopped functioning since January 2019 to date. The access to the building is through a mini jungle.
The building that’s housing the ICT hub supposed to be the office for the new NDC Wyburg/Caracas that was formed in 2018 by the then Minister of Communities Mr Bulkan, but nothing was done, despite promises made by Mr Bulkan.
The tenure of the government has not only failed the residents of this community but many others in Guyana.
