Flying Ace Cycle Club National Cycle Road race set for Berbice Sunday

Kaieteur Sports – National cycling action is set for Corentyne Berbice this Sunday 27th. The Flying Ace Cycle Club (FACC) of Berbice stages the third annual Rajkumar Churuman Memorial cycle road race along the Corentyne Coast.
The event, which is open to all cyclists in the country, pedal off at 09:30 hrs and is expected to see all the top riders in the country in action.
The race is expected to start from in front of Raj and Daughters Motorcycle and cycle store at Skeldon, Upper Corentyne. The cyclists will then proceed to the Raj and Daughters Motorcycle Store at Rose Hall town, Corentyne before turning back to finish at its place of origin.
Prizes will be awarded to the first eight finishers, first three juniors, first three open veterans, first three veterans over 50 years, first three under 23 riders. There will also be eight sprint prizes up for grabs.
The sponsorship cheque was recently handed over to official of the FACC from members of sponsor. Doing the honours was the wife of the deceased. The cheque was presented to former national cyclist Balram Narine who received on behalf of the club.
Also in attendance were the club Secretary Brandon Braithwaite and FACC President and Coach Randolph Roberts. Roberts is also the event coordinator.
The FACC would like to thank the sponsor for her continued support of the event. And the quest to make it an annual affair. (Samuel Whyte)
