Beverage giants Banks DIH Limited Rep Clayton McKenzie, Brand Manager I-CEE Soft Drinks, hands over the sponsorship to official of the Petra Organisation Troy Peters.
Kaieteur Sports – Beverage giants Banks DIH Limited, under their popular brands I-CEE Soft Drinks, Manta Supreme, Rainforest Water, Qiin and Duetto Biscuits, along with Tastee Snacks, have officially thrown their support behind the sixth edition of the Petra-organised ExxonMobil Under-14 Boys’ and Girls’ Schools Football Championships. The highly anticipated tournament is set to kick off tomorrow, Saturday, June 21, at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.
This year’s tournament will feature a total of 56 school teams 32 boys’ and 24 girls’ competing in separate championships for the prestigious title and a chance to win substantial cash prizes directed towards school development projects of their choice.
In addition to Banks DIH, the tournament has secured sponsorship from several other prominent companies, further strengthening its resources and reach. Title sponsor ExxonMobil leads the way, joined by Sky Tek, Stena Drilling, MVP Sports, and Demerara Mutual. Key government agencies such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport have also pledged their support to ensure the event’s continued success.
The opening day will feature a packed schedule with 26 matches (10 girls’ and 16 boys’) games, promising an exciting start to the 2025 edition. Action kicks off following the traditional March Past ceremony, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Chasing the spotlight in the curtain-raiser will be Chase’s Academic Foundation and East Ruimveldt Girls.
Football fans can look forward to three weeks of thrilling, talent-driven competition from June 21 to July 12, as the Petra Organisation sets the stage to crown the next Under-14 Schools Football Champions of the 2025 season.
