Kaieteur News – Old bai in Guyana had a big farm long time now pon de highway. At de back of de farm had a nice lil creek – proper shape fuh swimmin’ and coolin’ off. De water bin fresh and always running. De man even put picnic bench, a few old horseshoe post, and plant couple fruit trees to provide shade, although dem does never really bear much fruits.
One afternoon, de ole farmer seh he gon tek a lil walk down to de creek, since he ain’t been deh in a long time. He carry a big five-gallon bucket wid he, hopin’ to pick some fruits.
But as he get closer, he hear laughin’ and splashin’ – like a setta young gyals on holiday. When he peep, lo and behold! Is some young gyal skinny-dippin’ in he creek – naked like de day dem born.
Soon as dem spot de ole man, dem swim quick to de deep end and start holler:
“We na comin’ out till yuh gone!”
De old man fold he hand, screw up he face, and seh real calm:
“Look, meh ain’t come hay to spy pon naked gyal or mek y’all come out wid all yuh glory showin’.”
Then he raise de bucket and seh:
“Ah just come to feed de alligators…”
Dem gyal part water like Moses part Red Sea!
Some ole man might walk slow, but dem brain still fast-fast!
Talk half. Leff half.
