Kaieteur News – A man who sent threatening photos to his ex-girlfriend via WhatsApp reportedly told the police that the images were AI-generated.
The ex-girlfriend has a protection order against the suspect after allegedly suffering years of abuse at his hands. However, she said the man continues to allegedly harass her with threatening text messages, and recently it was no different.
Reports are that he threatened to shoot her and even sent her pictures of him holding a quantity of 9 mm ammunition. The woman reported the matter to the police but complained that the ranks only took action after she reached out to the Ministry of Human Services and Social Protection. “After having to jump through several hurdles to have him arrested, and an unsuccessful search for the weapon, he told the police…It’s all AI,” the woman said in a Facebook post.
Kaieteur News has confirmed that the suspect was indeed arrested and a search was conducted. Kaieteur News understands that he was released on station bail as investigations continue.
