Kaieteur News – Dem boys seh de US got a new way of dealing with people dem don’t like. It call OFAC sanctions. Once upon a time, when yuh accuse somebody of a crime, yuh had to prove it. Bring evidence, charge de person, and let de court decide. Now? All de US doing is pointing finger, calling names, and expecting everybody else fuh do de dirty wuk.
Is like Uncle Sam seh: “This man from yuh country is corrupt. Trust us.” But when yuh ask dem fuh de proof, dem seh, “Well, that confidential. Go investigate fuh yuhself.” So wait nah… yuh accusing people of criminal acts, but yuh ain’t sharing de evidence? That is like telling a man he thief yuh chicken but yuh ain’t showing de coop or de feather.
Dem sanctions now is de new weapon of foreign policy. It ain’t about court or law. It’s about pressure and public embarrassment. Yuh name get blacklist, bank account freeze, and next ting yuh know, yuh own country got to run behind papers and WhatsApp messages to figure out what really going on.
Dem boys seh if de US serious, why dem don’t just apply for extradition? Bring de case to court in Washington or New York. Let a judge and jury decide if de person guilty. But no, that gon mean dem got to show evidence, cross-examine witnesses, and face lawyers. Too much wuk. So instead, dem throwing de accusation like confetti and telling small countries, “You deal with it.” Is like outsourcing justice to de same governments they accusing of being soft pun crime.
Dem boys seh justice can’t be a press release. And a sanction ain’t no substitute fuh a trial. If yuh accusing somebody of tiefing, corrupting, laundering, or rigging—then do de decent thing: charge dem and prove it. Otherwise, it look more like politics than law. And plenty people smelling de difference.
