Kaieteur Sports – Kyle Karran struck a belligerent, unbeaten 107 for Cool Runningz who defeated Royal Challengers by 118 runs in the continuation of the 2025 Ontario Round-Arm Softball Cricket Association (ORSCA) Regular Season T20 round-robin competition.
The right-handed Karran hammered 11 sixes during his 56-ball show at the crease as Cool Runningz rattled up a competitive 219-6 from the allocated 20-overs.
Karran then returned with the ball to prove his all-round capability by snaring four wickets for 15 runs from his four maximum overs.
The action took place at Firgrove Public School ground in Brampton last Sunday where Royal Challengers responded with 101-9 when the 20-overs ran out.
Karran launched his historical knock after Cool Runningz lost Jordan Bacchus for only one.
The 20-year-old Kyle and his twin-brother Kristopher Karran then linked up and put together a steady, 58-run second-wicket stand before Kristopher departed for 24.
Cool Runningz suffered a middle-collapse but Kyle Karran continued to bat positively.
He got some support from Navindra Nauth who made 33 down the order while Canada-based Guyanese Muniram Karran, a veteran softball player and the father of Kyle and Kristopher, contributed 20 not out.
Armogan Gopaul took two wickets for 38 runs off his four overs while Rajesh Seelall also with identical figures bowling for Royal Challengers.
When Royal Challengers batted, Reginald Noray stroked a fighting 40 not out as no other batter was able to make an impression.
Supporting Kyle Karran was Jai Shivgobin, who claimed three wickets for 19 runs from his four-over stint.
Meanwhile, Kyle Karran registered a century last year and recently Kristopher made a significant impact with the bat in a winning effort.
Both Kyle and Kristopher have been playing hard-ball cricket professionally in Ontario too.
