Kaieteur Sports- Berbice has named a strong squad to participate in the second edition of the Caribbean Airlines sponsored Inter County Second Division T10 Cricket competition today.
The competition which is known as the CAL T10 Village Cricket League will see all matches being played in Georgetown.
The Berbice squad, which includes a number of seasoned players, some with Inter County experience, will be captained by Philbert Wilburg with Devon Clements the Vice-Captain.
The rest of the squad reads Davindra Lalsa, Darmesh Seenarine, Sasenarine Sukhu, Vinod Samaroo, Abdool Subhan, Tameshwar Ramoutar, Omesh Matura, Kevon Jawahir, Devendra Ramotar and Abdur Ramsammy.
Two U19 players have been named in Darious Joseph and Avishkar Persaud. The manager is Ryan Kissoonlal with Floyd Benjamin the coach.
Seven standbys have also been named in Hemraj Harrilall, Karim Mentore, Delroy Osborne, Naeem Khan, Leon Andrews, Balram Samaroo and Rishi Persaud.
The winning team will have a chance to travel overseas to compete against other second division teams.
Demerara are the defending champions. The Demerara team also went on to win a championship which involved some Caribbean teams which was subsequently held in Trinidad.
Patrons will have a chance to win airline ticket and lot of other prizes up for grabs compliments of the sponsors.
The fixture shows Demerara playing Essequibo followed by the games between Berbice and Essequibo. The final match will bring together Demerara and Berbice.
Matches will be played at the Everest Ground. First ball is expected to be bowled at 09:00 hrs.
