Kaieteur News- The skeletal remains suspected to be that of missing man were found on Thursday afternoon in a trench next to a culvert at Zeelugt Fisherdam, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).
It was clad in an orange jersey, a brown cloth belt and a dark-coloured pants. The same clothes that a 65-year-old labourer, was last seen dressed in before he went missing in January last.
The missing man was identified as only as Gansham better known as “Bad Boy” of Lot 815 Zeelugt, EBE. Police reportedly called in his son to check the remains and to confirm that the clothes the body was clad in belongs to his missing father.
He revealed too that his father usually drinks rum at a shop nearby where the skeletal remains were found. Investigators have questioned several individuals in the area and reviewing some camera footage with hopes of finding out how the remains got there.
Ranks were alerted to the discovery of the remains around 16:44hrs on Thursday after persons saw what looked like a human head in a trench. Residents had also reported a strong stench coming from that area some three weeks ago.
