Kaieteur Sports- Results in the MCYS NSC A. Munroe organized 10th Edition Janet & Cheddi Jagan memorial Schools Windball Cricket played at the National Gymnasium Region 4 saw Covent Garden Secondary setting themselves up for more title glory.
The only school to win ten Windball titles in the history of the sport played in schools since in the 90s, Covent Garden Secondary, will once again be looking to add to that list after they defeated Friendship Secondary in the East Bank Demerara zone semifinal and Camille’s Academy in the final.
In the Cheddi Jagan Memorial Boys competition, after winning the toss Covent Garden batted first and scored 103-0, with Tarrick Ramoutar 40 and Altof Rahim 45.
Friendship Secondary in replied were restricted to 95-2 when the overs expired with Ravin Singh 35 and Tyrone Nichlos 34 not out being the principal scorers.
Covent Garden batted first and made 118-0 with T. Ramotar 65 (6s x 6) and A. Rahim 49.
Camille’s Academy 90-5, Yuvraj Bhagwandin hit 43 and Darwin La Rose 25. T. Ramotar, A. Rohan & N. Ram each pick up one wicket.
In the Janet Jagan memorial Girls EBD Semi:
Covent Garden Secondary won the toss and invited Yarrowkabra Secondary to take first strike and after the five overs they scored 90-1, Viannel Jandoo hit 45 and Luanna Williams 34.
Covent Garden in reply were restricted to 86-1, Uoyda Famay 24, Kayla Permaul 16, Deuyani Singh 12.
Over in Region 6, Berbice High School boys and Lower Corentyne Secondary girls are the champions respectively.
