2025 DCB U19 Inter-Association 50-Over tournament…
-Balgobin smashes 214* to headline this past weekend’s round
Kaieteur Sports- Georgetown will clash with the lads from the East Coast as action in the ongoing DCB U19 tournament heats up with two mouth-watering matches set for today.
Over at Transport Ground, East Coast will have their hands filled against a formidable Georgetown team when action continues today.
East Bank and Upper Demerara will lock horns at Farm Ground as teams look to capitalize on this weekend’s past performances.
West Demerara powered to a mind-boggling 311-run win over Upper Demerara during Sunday’s round, after Sachin Balgobin smashed a record 214 not out off 103 balls, with 21 fours and 12 sixes.
National youth opener Parmeshwar Ram scored an even 50 off 35 deliveries (8×4 1×6) as WDCA surged to 336-2 in 30 overs.
Upper Demerara suffered tremendously in both departments, but it was the dramatic batting collapse which left them all out for a measly 25 inside 10 overs, was arguably the poorest performance in the tournament.
The WDCA pair of pacers Kelvin Raymond (5-12) and Patrice Fraser (4-10), never let the opposition batsmen out of their clutches, as they rewarded the magical performances of Balgobin and Ram.
Rain unfortunately washed out the battle between East Coast and East Bank at Better Hope Ground.
On April 9, Georgetown play Upper Demerara at Transport, while West Demerara battle East Bank at Meten-Meer-Zorg Ground.
Fixtures for April 11 will feature West Demerara versus Georgetown at Meten-Meer-Zorg and East Coast tackling Upper Demerara at Transport Ground with all games set for 9:30h bowl off time.
