Kaieteur News- A 37-year-old mother of two was placed on $25,000 bail on Wednesday when she appeared at Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer to an unlawful wounding charge.
The defendant is identified as Carlott Jarad of Lot 95 James Street, Albouystown. Jarad pleaded not guilty to the charge which was read to her by Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty
The accused was charged for unlawfully wounding Cloudette Dick on March 17, 2025 at Hadfield Street, Georgetown. Dick sustained a puncture to her left hand.
Magistrate McGusty placed Jarad on bail, after which she pleaded to be granted self-bail since she does not have the money to post bail.
“Housing call me and I went and pay for my land and now I broke. I don’t even have no money to buy things for my kids,” Jarad pleaded.
The matter was adjourned to April 16, 2025.
