Kaieteur News- MBW and Prestige Management Consultants (PMC), in partnership with the Local Content Secretariat through the Ministry of Natural Resources, is set to host the third annual Local Content Summit next week Tuesday at the Marriot Hotel, Kingston, Georgetown.
The summit will be held under the theme “Collaborate. Invest. Build: Let’s Shape Guyana Together”, organizers said in a press release.
The Summit’s opening plenary will include His Excellency, President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali as the keynote speaker. The Summit lineup will feature speakers from the Ministry of Natural Resources, Local Content Secretariat, and Attorney Chambers. Speakers from Business Support Organizations will come from the Private Sector Commission, Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Women in Energy. Speakers from the Oil and Gas Industry will include representatives from ExxonMobil, SBM Offshore, SLB, Baker Hughes, and Halliburton.
A major focus of the summit will be to provide attendees with practical guidance to identify and navigate the process of establishing strategic partnerships, joint ventures and consortia, with a special panel of successful businessmen and women who will share their experiences and strategies for successful joint ventures. These discussions will be instrumental in helping local businesses understand the intricacies of forming effective partnerships and navigating the challenges that come with them.
According to the release, many forward-looking companies have invested in supporting this important forum as sponsors, including ExxonMobil Guyana which has partnered with the organizers to sponsor the attendance of 75 women who have completed empowerment and capacity-building training programs. Other key sponsors include Sispro Inc., Brava, Bono Energy, Stena Drilling, Beacon Cafe, Shield Construction, Bourbon Guyana, Deep Ocean, Rafeek & Moore Customs Brokerage and Logistics Firm. The organizers extend their sincere appreciation for the support of these companies while noting opportunities are still available for additional sponsors to come on board.

The summit is being organized by Anita Ramprasad, (CEO of Prestige Management Consultants) and Abigail Loncke-Watson (CEO of MBW).
Its agenda is poised to take a deeper and realistic look at the challenges, key improvements and opportunities in oil and gas, as well as the non-oil sectors.
