Kaieteur News- On Tuesday, around 11:48hrs, a fire caused by illegal electrical wiring, destroyed the home of 47-year-old Premchand Singh, at Lot 2 Public Road Plantation Foulis, West Coast Berbice.
According to a statement from the Guyana Fire Service via its Facebook page, “Four firefighters under the guidance of Leading Fireman Blair responded to the fire at 11:48hrs, and utilised one jet working from water tender 121 tank supply to extinguish the fire.”
Though the inferno severely damaged another unfinished concrete structure owned by one Mr. Singh fortunately no life was lost. The Guyana Fire Service is urging citizens to desist from using illegal electricity connections as it can cause a fire, electrocution and the loss of life and property.
