Kaieteur Sports- Abilash Dookie XI defeated North Soesdyke by five wickets when the teams collided in a T20 fixture recently at Farm, East Bank Demerara.
North Soesdyke batted first and lost two early wickets before Mark Robhe and Mark Ramsammy steadied the innings somewhat. Opener Robhe struck one four and two sixes before he was dismissed for 24, while Ramsammy made 16.
Rakesh Gangaram slammed two sixes in scoring 19 while Damion Vantull contributed 13 as North Soesdyke posted 104 all out in 17.5 overs. Dhaniram Lallaram picked up 3-18.
Dookie XI suffered an early setback, losing two quick wickets before Surendra Hiralall and Riyad Sattaur kept them in hunt. Heeralall hit three fours before he departed for 16, however Sattaur remained unbeaten on 20 with one four and a six, while Buddan Baksh chipped in with 16 as Dookie XI replied with 108-5 in 15.2 overs.
Sattaur took the best batter prize, Lallaram received the best bowler award and Gangaram collected the trophy for the most sixes, compliments of Ravi Narayan.
The game was organised by North Soesdyke Sports Club as part of their end of year activities.
