Kaieteur Sports – Big Man Cricket-GY continues to grow exponentially in Guyana with its 3rd year of operation and has now been expanded to include its inaugural O50s version of masters’ cricket. Previously BMC-GY had started with an O45s tournament in 2021/2022, then an O40s one in 2023. These changes were brought about due to the structure that has been adopted by the world masters governing body, the IMC and its parent body, Cricket West Indies Masters Association (CWIMA) – O40s, O50s, O60s & O70s. Playing cricket in this manner allows players in each age group to play with their respective peers and leads to more age-appropriate cricket and much fairer competition.
BMC-GY is pleased to have this inaugural tournament to be sponsored by Permaul Trading and Distribution and Peter Lewis Asphalt & Construction Services. These are 2 leading businessesin the ancient county of Berbice and are well known throughout the length and breadth of Guyana.
This tournament has attracted 6 teams from all parts of Guyana consisting of one team from Essequibo, two teams from Berbice, one from East Coast Demerara, one Georgetown based and another joint East Bank/West Demerara team.
