Vice President’s/GSCL Inc T20 Extravaganza…
– Speedboat disqualified
Kaieteur Sports – A fine century by Chein Gittens handed Ariel Masters a 68-run win over East Coast Titans when the teams collided in the first semi final in the over-40 category of the Vice President’s/Georgetown Softball Cricket League (GSCL) Inc T20 Extravaganza yesterday at Queen’s College. Batting first, Ariel Masters scored 226-4. Gittens slammed an unbeaten 100 while Rawl Reid scored 27, Troy Ramsaywack 24 and Richard Latif 23. Randy Etwaroo took 2-16. East Coast Titans replied with 158 all out in 20 overs. Ramo Malone made 30 as Sherwin Huberth, Latif and Reid took two wickets each.
Regal Masters defeated Fisherman Masters in the next semi final. (No scores were available). Ariel Masters will battle Regal Masters in the final.
Earlier, Fisherman beat Regal B by six wickets. Regal B took first knock and made 104-9 in 17 overs. David Dick scored 23 as Doodnauth Ramdeen picked up 3-27 and Rudolph Joseph 2-9. Fisherman responded with 109-4 in 9.5 overs. Zameer Hassan made 47 while Zakie Salim scored 23. Rudy Mangal took two wickets.
Fisherman Masters beat Avengers by five wickets. Avengers batted first and managed 181 all out in 19.4 overs. B. Gomes made 47, R. Jairam 24 and Mustafaa Azimullah 22. D. Singh took two wickets. Fisherman responded with 186-5 in 18.1 overs. D. Singh scored 61 not out and Zakie Salim 54.
OVER-50
In the over-50 division, Regal Legends will play Aash Decor in the final from 09:30hrs.
At DCC, Regal Legends defeated Aash Decor by 46 runs in the preliminary round. Regal Legends batted first and posted 189-7. Suresh Ramdin made 55, Nandram Samlall 31, Wayne Jones 28 and Unnis Yusuf 22. Seeraj Bhimsain claimed 3-30 while there were two wickets each for Rudy Mayers and Charran Sahadeo. Aash Decor scored 143-8 in reply. Jai Ram made an unbeaten 36, Patrice Stewart scored 32 and Mohamed Rafeek 20.Yusuf claimed 4-13 and Jones 2-36. Meanwhile, Savage also beat Aash Decor in their final preliminary round game.

In the open category, Regal will face Hyde Park in the final. Regal, Hyde Park and Speedboat recorded two wins apiece, however Speedboat were disqualified by the disciplinary committee following their refusal to continue their final preliminary round game against Regal at Enterprise.
