Kaieteur Sports – Results in the Ministry of Culture Youth & Sport National Sports Commission Janet Jagan Birth Anniversary Female Windball Cricket Champions Trophy tournament continued recently. Debutant Essequibo Island Secondary (Wakenaan) won the toss, took to the middle first, and scored 60 -2, with Mariah Cheong 22 with (3 x 6s) and Melecia Wiggins 14, bowling for President’s College Rehanna Boston 2-3.
President’s College replied with 62-0 to win. C. Thompson hit 40 (6x6s) and Shalini Deokumar 22 (3x6s).
Play returns to the National Gymnasium today, Thursday 26th and will see Nine (9) schools from the East Bank Demerara in action which includes debutants Diamond Primary and Yarrowkabra Secondary in action.
The Other teams are last year’s 2nd place Diamond Sec., Friendship Sec., Soesdyke Sec., Dora Sec., IPE and Camille’s Academy. Defending Champions Covent Garden Secondary are also on the cards. Play starts at 9:55am.
