Linden Mayor’s Cup U-21 Schools Basketball
MHS and ‘Multi’ already through
Kaieteur Sports – Kwakwani Secondary will take on Linden Technical Institute for the last spot available in the Linden Mayor‘s Cup Under 21 Schools basketball championship at 2.30pm at the Retrieve Hard Court in Mackenzie.
These two teams are from Group A and both won their match against Wisburg Secondary the other team in their group. There were nine teams in this three group tournament of three and the other two group winners have been decided
On Wednesday Mackenzie High and Christianburg Wismar Secondary made it to the three team final when they won their final group game also played at the Retrieve Hard Court.
In Group C, Christianburg Wismar Secondary beat Linden Foundation Secondary 55-30 following a 21-14 lead at the half time break as the other team Marcia Craig were eliminated.
For Christianburg Wismar Secondary T. Hinds had a top score of 15 points, while C. Dodson and C. Bascom each netted 11 points. T. Simon led the scoring with 17 points for the losing Linden Foundation Secondary School.
In their Group B match Mackenzie High defeated Harmony 51-22, after leading at half time 32-11. For MHS Gemar Greene-Marshall top scored with 14 points as Owen France and Jamaine McCalman each got six points and Reyhan Baller supported with five. New Silvercity Secondary was the other team in that group.
The three way finals start next Wednesday at the Retrieve Hard Court.
