Plane tyre blows out while taking off from Mabaruma Airstrip
Kaieteur News – The tyre of a single engine Cessna Grand Caravan on Friday reportedly blew out as it was about to take off from the Mabaruma Airstrip, North West District, Region One.
The incident took place around 10:00hrs and caused panic among the passengers on board. Luckily no one was injured.
Residents of the community told Kaieteur News that passengers bound for Georgetown boarded the plane and just moments after turning onto the runway, the tyre blew out.

“The engine was on and the tyre burst,” one resident recounted.
The plane’s propeller reportedly struck the ground before the engine went dead.
Investigations are ongoing.
