Kaieteur Sports – The 4th Annual Shafura Hussain Foundation GolFun Camp tees off from July 24-Aug 5 at the Nexgen Golf Academy, Scout Association Ground Woolford Avenue.
The much anticipated Nexgen GolFun Summer camp will see action on Mon/Wed/Fri from 4-6 pm.
This year’s GolFun Camp is expected to raise the standard for fun youth activities as the participants, ages 3 and up, will partake in Golfing, Archery by ProArchers Guyana, Physical Fitness and will be trained in Self Defense and First Aid courtesy of Praetorian Security Services with Photography by Al Junior Wilson.
Players will be provided with equipment, balls, coaching, snacks (Sunshine Snacks), Beverages (Banks DIH); water (CIDI), ice cream (Sterling Products), and will all receive a Certificate of Completion and take part in a skills competition by age and gender where they will win prizes (Guyana Beverages, V&V Distributors, Survival Supermarket) and trophies (Trophy Stall) from First-Fifth in each category.
Parents will have a chance to play golf and archery with Coaches Anand Mangra and Narda Mohamed while they’re waiting for the kids to finish.
As always, dozens of worthy children will attend the GolFun Camp because of generous contributions by long-time supporters Banks DIH; Toolsie Persaud Ltd; CMC Security Services; Sunshine Snacks; Sterling Products Ltd; V&V Distributors; Comfort Sleep; Vivaanta Spa; Caliper Drones; Assuria General; Guyana Beverages; Survival Supermarket Sheriff Street; Ramchand Auto; Praetorian Security Services; Darthan Investments Print; Dr. Paloma Mohamed (UG); CIDI BlueLife Waters; Party Castle; Trophy Stall; and several other donors who prefer to remain anonymous.
President of Nexgen Golf Academy Aleem Hussain thanked the multitude of sponsors, “Those who have believed in our vision from the beginning and the many new ones who are supporting the rapid growth of golf in Guyana are the reason for our success. Partnerships with the Scout Association of Guyana, Guyana Teachers Union, CPCE, the Ministry of Education Allied Arts Unit, Texas Golf Association and other sports organizations have helped us achieve what many said was impossible. Guyana is now a Golf Nation! But without the staunch support of Mr. Ramsey Ali, Philip Haynes, Nikita, Andrew Ramcharitar, Al Wilson and Steve who are there on a daily basis to ensure our success, we could not have gotten this far.”
