Kaieteur Sports – The 2023 Roger Boyce Classic witnessed an impressive display of talent from the Guyanese delegation, over the weekend. The team of bodybuilders including Julio Sinclair, Darious Ramsammy, Christina Ramsammy, Nicolas Albert, and Rosanna Fung left their mark in the Men’s Bodybuilding and Female Bikini Wellness divisions at the prestigious Roger Boyce International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Elite/Pro Classic championship which concluded on Sunday at the Lloyd Erskine Convention Centre in Barbados.
Rosanna Fung of Guyana delivered a stellar performance, marking her first appearance in a professional competition since attaining pro status at CAC 2022. Fung’s remarkable talent and unwavering dedication led her to a well-deserved second-place finish in the Bikini Wellness category. In addition to her podium achievement, she also received a rewarding cash prize in recognition of her outstanding performance.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Albert showcased his dominance in the Men’s up-to 90kg category, emerging as the first-place finisher during the competition stages. However, he ultimately secured an overall second-place with a score of 10, as Mexico’s Jose Armando Felix claimed the top spot with a score of five.
Darious Ramsammy, on the other hand, displayed his prowess in the Men’s Bodybuilding up-to-80kg category, positioning himself among the top contenders and securing an admirable second place as Hoskyn Worrell of Barbados copped the first-place honours. Julio Sinclair was also impressive in his quest, securing a respectable third-place finish in the Men’s Bodybuilding over-90kg category of the competition, further solidifying the strong performance of the Guyanese delegation.
