2023 Milo U18 Schools Football Tournament…
Kaieteur News – Today, March 18, the Petra-organised Milo Under-18 Schools Football Tournament enters its second round of matches with four showdowns billed for the Ministry of Education (MoE) Ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The tournament, which is sponsored by Nestlé through Massy Distribution, starts Day five from 11:00 hrs when Carmel goes head-to-head with Dora. In the match that follows with a 12:45hrs start, Bartica will meet East Ruimveldt.
At 14:00 hrs, Dolphin collides with Santa Rosa then the card culminates with the Day’s final match from 15:45 hrs that will see West Ruimveldt challenge Queen’s College.
Tomorrow, Sunday, March 19, another four matches are scheduled to unravel at the same venue from the times mentioned earlier.

Up first, Vryman’s Erven go up against Vreed en Hoop then Mackenzie High tackle Patentia, before Chase’s Academic Foundation (CAF) thrash it out with Bygeval in the third encounter. The final match feature Santa Rosa and St. Stanislaus College.
The tournament continues with Days 7 and 8 next weekend, March 25 – 26, as the second round wraps up.
As it stands after Round one, In Group A, Carmel and CAF both secured their three points from victories but the former leads with a superior Goal Difference (GD). The other two teams in the Group, Dora and Bygeval, both lost and are without points.
Group B has Bartica and East Ruimveldt on top with three points each while Marian Academy and Bush Lot are third and fourth, respectively. Group C has Westminster on top with three points, Charity and New Central High are both tied on 1 point, while Annandale is yet to score a point.
Defending Champion, Christianburg/Wismar, leads Group D with a superior GD ahead of 8th of May while Vryman’s Erven and West Demerara occupy the other two slots, respectively.
Group E has the other Linden team, Mackenzie High, in the lead, Patentia is second while North Ruimveldt and President’s College (-3) are third and fourth.
Group F has West Ruimveldt in the lead, Ann’s Grove is second while Queen’s College and Vergenoegen sit third and fourth, respectively.
Charlestown leads Group G while Cummings Lodge, St Cuthbert’s Mission and Berbice Education Institute trail closely, in that order.
The final Group has Santa Rosa in the lead with St Stanislaus College in second while Dolphin and New Amsterdam are in third and fourth, respectively.
This event is sanctioned by the MoE and the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and also supported by MVP Sports, Guyana Industrial Minerals Inc. (GINMIN) and General Equipment & Supplies Inc. (GENEQUIP).
