Dear Editor,
“African airlines entering Guyana market’ (NewsRoom February 28) blazed the news headline with a full release detailing the Angolan aircraft operator, Bestifly and the Addis Ababa flight support, charter and aviation consultancy, Krimson Aviation, in a joint venture company, BFK Aviation, to support local operator, Xen Aviation.
And all because of our booming oil and gas sector. All of this is very good, but from a layperson standpoint shouldn’t the announcement and release of the entry into our market have been made by the authorizing agency, GCAA? Even though it seems a private arrangement between BFK Aviation and Xen Aviation, the fact the operation is Guyana based, the authorizing agency comes into play. GCAA should offer some clarity on this matter.
Yours faithfully,
Shamshun Mohamed
