Welcome to Berbice. Your visit is timely as it will allow many concerns to be addressed. Sir, your appointed people are failing its citizens. Throughout your term so far, you have always shown that leaders must serve. They must come off their ‘high horses’. You have many sacred cows in Berbice, and because they know a minister or two, they enjoy immunity.
In your last visit, residents complained bitterly about the attitude of a certain NDC official in East Canje. Nothing has improved since. In fact, her attitude has gotten worst towards citizens. Any citizen who complains against her is berated, abused and ridiculed. Everyone knows of her outburst style. This is not what you stand for. How can one person hold so many positions in Berbice? It is because of the many positions, some of your people assume, they cannot function to the fullest. Shouting, screaming, hollering cannot be the way business is done. The days of bully type leadership is gone and unless this individual undergoes some reforming then your party will constantly be disgraced. Videos after videos are on social media about her conduct, even petitions by residents yet no action.
Contractors are the new powerhouses in the country. Surely, money run things. These young contractors don’t understand that being associated with the party doesn’t give them the right to trample on others.
Mr. President, welcome to Berbice. We expect great things from your visit.
Your truly,
East Canje Resident
