Kaieteur News – Youths and other villagers alike of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara Community, were given an opportunity to be more gainfully occupied when they were presented with a set of table tennis equipment.
The equipment was recently donated to members of the Youth Empowerment Police Youth Group by overseas based Guyanese Mr. Beveny of the Beveny Foundation.
Before handing over the equipment to members of the group, the overseas based Guyanese who has been assisting those at home on regular basis held an interactive session with those in attendance which comprised mostly of youths.
Among the items donated were a number of table tennis Racquets, nets and balls.
After handing over the equipment the donor stated that it is all in keeping with his commitment to help the youths develop their personal skills.
Beveny also promised to continue to assist as much as he urged the recipients to take good care of the items donated.
The recipients were loud in praised as they thanked Beveny for his love and support.
They spoke how timely and worthy the contributions were and applauded the donor as he brought smiles to faces of the children in attendance. (Samuel Whyte)
