Kaieteur News – Presently two Recreational Parks costing millions of dollars are being constructed in various sections of Berbice, under the auspices of the First Lady Arya Ali.
The parks are being constructed in the Towns of New Amsterdam and Corriverton.
The park in New Amsterdam, which is being done by Kason Engineering, is being built next to the Region 6 Regional Democratic Council Compound. And will be known as a Recreational Facility.
The park in Corriverton, which will be known as an Entertainment Park, is being constructed opposite the Skeldon Market.
Both parks will have a parking lot and when completed are expected to be fitted with special facilities for kids and the elderly and will include play areas, walkways, benches, washroom facilities among others amenities.
The spaces will also be available to host Cultural activities of different persuasions and mini games and fun events.
Mrs. Ali recently visited both sites and commended the work being done so far. Both projects are expected to be completed before the end of the year. (Samuel Whyte)
