Dear Editor,
Older heads will remember legendary Queen’s College Headmaster Doodnauth Hetram. He was my father. The younger generation can fill in gaps in their knowledge by learning more about him and his time at Queen’s (1951 to 1969). He was QC Headmaster from 1963 to 1969, the first local Guyanese to hold that post.
I recently published a book entitled “Doodnauth & Charran Hetram; it’s the journey that matters; India > Guyana > Canada”. The book is replete with informative text, photos and charts and is available on Amazon in Black and White, Colour and Kindle digital editions. It traces our family roots in India, my father’s life in Guyana and our family’s journey from Guyana to Canada. I worked for many years as a teacher in Canada, and am also a qualified financial planner. In the book, I recount some of my experiences as a teacher in Canada and I also give detailed financial advice, especially relating to retirement. Though the advice is in Canadian context, local Guyanese would find much of it relevant and helpful.
Yours faithfully,
Charran Hetram
