Kaieteur News – Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) has once again partnered with local artistes to produce a jingle for the company, with Diana Chapman, walking away with $200,000 as the grand prize winner.
The second and third place winners secured themselves one mobile handset each. Prizes were handed over at the company’s Head Office at 79 Brickdam.
According to a GTT release, the competition forms part of its ongoing promise to strengthen the community and allow local artistes to demonstrate their talent. Speaking about the initiative was GTT’s Product Marketing Manager (Mobile), Diangelly Singh.
“We were really happy to join forces with these talented Guyanese and have them onboard for this venture. Their work will be used for some exciting things we have coming,” Singh is quoted in the release as saying.
Linden born Chapman is no stranger to the local music industry, having placed in the top three in GTT’s Guyana Star competition and national calypso and soca competitions. GTT said it has a long history of supporting and collaborating with local artistes and continues to pledge its support towards projects.
