Guyana registered a 41-run win over Trinidad and Tobago when the first round of the Cricket West Indies Regional U19 three-day tournament concluded recently at Park Hill, St. Vincent and The Grenadines.
Batting first, Guyana made 179 all out. Opener Tomanni Caesar struck 59, Zeynul Ramsammy 43 not out and Zachary Jodah 29.
Nick Ramlal captured 4-39 and Andrew Rambaran 3-24. In reply, Trinidad and Tobago made 146 allout. Rambaran scored 32, Narad Kissoondath 31, Rajeev Ramnauth 27 and Justin Jagessar 22. Jonathan Rampersaud bagged 6-44 and Mavindra Dindyal 2-17.
Batting a second time, Guyana managed 160 all out. Rampertab Ramnauth led with 49, while Shamar Yearwood scored 30, Rampersaud 17 not out and Isai Thorne 17.
Vasant Singh claimed 3-36 and Joshua Davis 2-33.
Set 194 to win, Trinidad and Tobago were bowled out for 152. Kissoondath made 47, Orlando James 29 and Ramlal 26. Dindyal grabbed 4-24 and Rampersaud 2-50. Guyana play Leeward Islands from today.
