Guyanese-born Imtiaz Badshaw struck a belligerent, unbeaten 148 for Leguan Warriors last Sunday at Littles ground, Scarborough in the continuation of the 2022 Ontario Masters Softball Cricket Clubs over-40, 20-overs Division 2 competition.
Leguan Warriors rattled up a formidable 268-3 from 20-overs while Miracles only responded with 147-6 from the 20-overs.
The right-handed Badshaw, who recently scored a hundred in the same competition, hammered 20 sixes and four fours in his 76-ball exhibition. His fellow Canada-based Guyanese Faoud Mohamed also made an impact with the bat by slamming a 12-ball 50 not out which included five sixes and four fours while Naresh Bodo contributed a rapid 46 (5×6).
When Miracles batted, Ramesh Girdhari scored a fighting 59 not out laced with five sixes and four fours.
Badshaw proved his all-round capability by taking two wickets for 12 runs from three economical overs. Doodnauth Manbahal also with two wickets but conceded 29 runs from his maximum three overs.
Details from the other games were not available but the play-off segment is set for this Sunday at various venues across the Greater Toronto Area. Eight teams are in participation.
