We are all proud to have a President of such wisdom and perspicacity

Dear Editor,

This is a congratulatory letter to our President, His Excellency Dr. Irfaan Ali. Congratulations are also extended to his Advisors, who I assume advise him on things that matter.
We saw the President bedecked in the Saudi Arabia headdress when he met with the visiting Saudi Arabian delegation.
The link show has just ended and I am sure that to provide citizens with some comic relief to ease the stress of the spiralling cost of living, the President is filling the gap post the humour of the link show.

For one thing, he did not impress the Saudis who must have seen him as a clown from a different cultural background with its sartorial elegance grounded in their traditions.
I expect that when next my President visit any of our seven Amerindian tribes, he will ensure that his headdress is appropriate and that his derriere has a coat of vaseline to attract one and all as the Amerindian Member of Parliament has done and that when a West African delegation next visits, we expect him to adorn his muscular body with their tradition African headdress and gown, and to complete his ensemble`, he would walk with a zulu spear and shield.

When an Indian delegation visits, he can identify with any of the caste turban referred to as a pagri made from a red material.
When there is an American delegation, I can lend him a cowboy hat given to me as a gift when I was in Texas a few years ago.
Of course, if he has a visitor from Madeira or Portugal, he has Tom or Jerry, Harry or Tony, to ensure that he is appropriately dressed.

Of course, the invitation for the function held at the Pegasus Hotel, to mark the 50th Anniversary of China- Guyana relations, the invitation was very specific when they said formal dress.
Those who attended would have noted what is now formal in Guyana.
Guyanese, at home and abroad, we are all proud to have a President of such wisdom and perspicacity.
